Kites from Into the Wind

Kites from Into the Wind

Let's go fly a kite! There are a couple of good weekends left in March, so why not take the little ones to a nearby park or field to fly kites? We think kites are such a great value- they provide hours of fun and entertainment (and even exercise!) with no electricity or batteries necessary.

That's why we were so happy to discover the mail order store Into the Wind online. They have hundreds of different styles of kites, and you and the kids are sure to find one you'll enjoy watching take flight.

All the kites that Into the Wind sells are carefully selected and reviewed after the staff attends the annual Kite Trade Show. Into the Wind was founded by architects George Emmons and Jim Glass back in 1980. They see kites "as the fine art of enjoying the wind."

You might want to start with a beginner kite like the one pictured above- as we remember, flying a kite can have its challenges. But Into the Wind, which is located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, tests out every kite themselves with the philosophy "if it flies here, it will fly anywhere".

They also have a selection of collapsible kites, so if you want to keep one in the car, or even your bag, you'll be ready when the wind strikes!

Twice as much fun- for only $5, the kids can actually color this kite and fly their own artwork high above for all to see.

Ok, this one's a bit pricey, but cmon- it's air guitar!
